'Sgraffito', to scratch, in Italian

Sgraffito is an ancient decorative technique dating back to the 10th century. Made using terracotta clay, these plaques have a design carved into a layer of white slip and are then glazed. Each comes ready to hang with a plate hanger on the reverse. In sunlight they have a wonderful golden glow. Sadly, terracotta doesn't like the frost, so they are for indoor use only.
